the friday 5 for October 22 2021

Is there anything better than a lazy Sunday and not getting up til nearly 10am? It's so comfortable and cozy, especially when it's chilly and grey out there, and I can move from the bed to the couch with a mug of coffee and some toast with marmalade. Lovely!

1. What was a skill you were proud to learn as a kid? It wasn't really as a 'kid' as such, but I was absolutely stoked in my teens when I learned to read tarot

2. What's something you used to be good at, but can't do any more? I wrote poetry when I younger - I don't know if anyone else thought I was good, but I loved what I wrote. The older I get, the more self-conscious I get about what I'm writing, the more critical to the point where I stopped writing due to complete paralysis from fear of fucking up

3. What's something you haven't done in a long time, but you could pick it right back up again with some practice? Calligraphy. I have actually bought myself some brush pens and a notebook, bookmarked some websites and I do intend on picking it back up. I just have to find the confidence to start

4. What can you teach others to do? I don't know if I could teach anything - but I could definitely info dump at/on people about the environment and conservation and the diversity of life!

5. What would you like to learn next? Something along the lines of human anatomy, geology or archaeology

Poetry is so subjective that you cannot be wrong if you write what matters to you. Even if you don't share it, it may give you a further outlet for feelings.
